Introduction – Mohan Das Karam Chand Gandhi (Mahatma Gandhi) was a great patriotic Indian if not the greatest. Mahatma Gandhi was a man of an unbelievable grate personality. Gandhi JI was the leader of India’s non violent independence movement against British rule and in south Africa who advocated for the civil rights of Indians.

His  early life – Mohandas Karam Chand Gandhi (Mahatma Gandhi Ji) was born on 2^nd October 1869 at Porbandar in in Gujarat .his father was the Diwan of the Rajkot State. His mother was a religious lady. He was married at the age of 13 with Kasturba.

His education-

At the age of 7 he was sent to school. Gandhi Ji was an average student. He never told a lie even in his school life. He paid attention to build his character. For higher education he was sent to England. There he studied law and became a barrister. He started his practice at Bombay (now called Mumbai).at court he never took any false case.

political life – in South Africa he fought for the rights of Indians living there. After sometime he comes to India. He becomes the leader of the Indian national congress. He along with other leader’s .fought bravely for the freedom of India. karamchand started the Satyagraha movement. Mahatma Gandhi was sent to jail many times. At last India become free on 15^th august 1947. He was shot dead by Nathuram Godse on 30^th Jan… 1948.

greatness – mahatma Gandhi was not only a political leader, he was great in other in things as well. Gandhi Ji worked for only the unity of the Hindus and Muslims. GandhiJI loved truth and ahinsha throughout his life. Gandhi JI loved harijans and the poor most. He helped all. He was truly religious. So he was called ‘mahatma’. He was called ‘bapu’ and ‘father of the nation’. even today people in the whole world respect and love gandhiji very much.
